CD Fort Public School follows the CBSE curriculum from Nursery to Class 12. We aim to give every child clear, practical teaching, a disciplined and caring place to learn, and the personal attention they need to grow in knowledge, confidence and character.
A Lasting Tribute
Late Smt. Chand Devi
A Visionary Mother, An Inspiring Educator, A Legacy of Excellence
Late Smt. Chand Devi was a woman of remarkable courage, wisdom and progressive vision. The school named in her honour stands as a tribute to her unshaken belief in the transformative power of education.
She was the sister of Er. J. P. Sinha, Engineer Member of the Bihar State Electricity Board, from Warispur, Vaishali and was married to Shri J. P. Singh of Mahthi, Narahan, Samastipur. Inspired by her educational family background, she courageously challenged traditional barriers against female education in her village and ensured that her children received higher education.
Her determination bore fruit, as her legacy continues through a distinguished family that includes Doctors, Engineers, Principals, A hero who served in the Air Force, M.Sc. and Ph.D. holders, and other government professionals. Her grandsons include graduates of IIT Delhi and NIIT Calicut, a distinguished lawyer and business tycoons, while one grandson serves as a Deputy Commissioner in the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) and her granddaughter-in-law serves as a Deputy Director of Income Tax.
Beyond her family, Chand Devi dreamed of providing free education, food and clothing to underprivileged children, believing that every child deserved an opportunity to build a better future. Her vision and actions inspired her entire family and community, and her ideals continue to guide generations.
She passed away on 14 April 2002 in New Delhi due to liver cancer and was cremated at Har Ki Pauri, Haridwar. Though she is no longer among us, her legacy lives on through the school bearing her name and the countless lives her vision continues to inspire. Late Smt. Chand Devi will forever be remembered as a pioneer of education, a courageous mother and an enduring symbol of knowledge, compassion and social progress.
